Air Force initial rank

Hey all. I am finalizing my package for the next board. I have not had the most confidence in my recruiter through this process. There are a myriad of things I have sent him over the past few weeks that he has asked me to resend multiple times. He today sent me a paper (form 1431) which indicates entry rank and monetary start. Now this DOES state on this form that this is not a final contract and only an estimate. He specifically stated on the form I have 2 years as an NP (true), but didn't specify any of my time as an ADN which I was for approximately 7 years prior. I asked him and he seemed unsure as to whether they would count that (I can't be the ONLY person who was a prior ADN he's come across). He said that since I am going in as an FNP, that's all they would consider on experience. I thought Navy was the only one that did this, but I could be mistaken. He noted that if personnel had an issue with it they would kick it back.

My other concern is I am prior service with 9 years in up to the rank of SSgt. On that form, the pay for rank O2E with 4 years of service was there. Should this be set up to reflect my 9 years? Meaning at least O2E with 8 years in service? Or are OE ranks defaulted to the four year mark?

Not trying to slow this process and if it all will rectify prior to my oath, then I won't push too much. Also it's more important to me to get in than to worry about the semantics of whether I am an O2E or an O3E when I finally clear this hurdle. Just wondering if anyone here could clarify some of this.

While it looks like you have already gotten your answer on the rank and such, but I do want to give a giant warning on the likelihood that your pay situation and all of your personnel records could be seriously jacked up for a long time! Hubby just joined last year (late July) and his pay and records JUST NOW have gotten on track. He was prior enlisted as well and apparently it just throws the entire system for a loop. He never did reserves but DEERS had him listed as reserves (not inactive reserve which of course he had done, just plain ole' reserve which he had never done), his MPF stuff had him as an O1 but then had his enlisted AFSC, everything said no dependents (despite the fact that I was a dependent when he was enlisted and he turned in all the paperwork for me and our children while he was at COT), he wasn't getting the pay for his time in service (was getting O1 as though he was brand new and not with his 4+ yrs), his dates were all off, it was all just a mess. They didn't even have him a pay record for close to 5 months and were just making estimated manual payments based off the lowest numbers so that they would owe us and we would not end up owing them when it was all straightened out. I've talked to several other prior enlisted nurses and spouses who have said theirs was the same way taking a minimum of 6mo and lots of MPF office visits and tickets and such to fix. We read of stories where some people did not get paid while at COT and sometimes for a bit of time after, however we were at least luck enough to have gotten some payment during that time as they just put in a flat rate payment while he was there (it was obvious that it wasn't his regular pay). We did eventually get paid back a bunch extra, however I still have to sit down and make sure it somewhat matches up to what he should have gotten. Just don't want you blindsided or unprepared financially for not being paid or for being paid less for a while in the event yours ends up messed up for a while too! :)
