I would try to get stuff before COT. Find someone who knows what they're doing and have them Buying uniforms at COT is an absolute s**t show. They run out of sizes and they take weeks to get alterations done. Get your recruiter to take you. Get 2 sets of ABUs, and 1 set of service dress tailored before you show up.

Thanks jfratian. I am nowhere near a base. Im gonna have to take a trip to tampa and get it done. Im just grateful i have some time to take care of everything

It was my understanding that the security clearance and background check were the same thing. But I could be mistaken as well. I'm currently trying to get my finger prints done. And everything is closed today for the holiday.

Usually the background check is conducted as part of obtaining your security clearance.

That's what I thought as well. So you should be fine su1685. And don't be afraid to ask questions to your recruiter. If not him/her definitely ask here!
