Air force or Army Nursing

Published

I just want to someones input on military nursing life I am an LPN with 3 years of experience; 2 in long term care and 1 in an acute care hospital. I am currently a student and going to graduate with my associates with my RN in May 2016. I know that that you need your BSN before you join. How early can you contact a recruiter. or is it too early ?

I am 24, single, with no children

I dont have experience but my friend joined with an asn and was at officer level then. Things may be different now. I would contact the recruitment office and get the info in writing. I mean, seriously if you join at asn you could get a gi bill to pay for the bsn or higher part.

Too early, you will need a BSN and 2 years of experience before the Army will even consider you.

The Army hasn't accepted ADNs into the reserves for a long while.

I applied to the Air Force my junior year in a BSN program- good thing I did bc it took that long to be accepted. Go speak with a recruiter who will send you to a specialized health professions recruiter. Many times, especially now, there will be a long wait list.
