I would recommend checking out the Wyoming forum. There is a big difference in per diem vs travel contracts, and you do not normally hear of travel contracts to there.
I do know that there are several agencies that cover the bigger cities, but as far as the smaller ones?
One suggestio is to try and do a search on either Google or Yahoo for nursing agencies in Wyoming and see what you can come up with.
Thanks for the reply! I've known several nurses who have worked contracts at the Wyo state pen. I guess they pay top dollar - probably b/c it is hard to attract people there (rawlins wyo). Not exactly a choice town to live in! Probably wouldn't be bad for a while, though.
Last I heard all of the prisons in Wyoming were using travelers/agency nurses.I believe PHS (Prison Health Services) currently has the contracts for those facilities.
I also think there are a few threads in the correctional nursing forum that talk about WY travel nurses.

It seems this site is kind've dead but I thought I would try anyway =-)
Basically asking for a friend of mine but I was curious too - does anyone know of hospitals (or any other health care facilities) in Wyoming that utilize traveler (agency) RN's? If so, to what extent? When i was living there, I knew of some LTC's that used travelers quite regularly, but I have no idea if that is still the case. My friend has family in thermopolis that she wanted to be close to for a while, but I know that is a pretty sporificely populated area so I told her not to get her hopes up on finding anything in that immediate area, but I thought maybe Casper, Riverton, ect...... I know here in colorado she works for the resource pool so would probably fit into a rural hosp. w/o a problem.
I just had no idea if wyo facilities were even needing agency nurses at this time. Thanks for any info in advance!!
