I am not a psych nurse, but I started studying to be an RN at 18, and graduated at 20. I was living independently, renting my own apt. I have no regrets about my choice
Also, if you are interested in criminal justice and psych nursing you should really look into forensic nursing, it is a nice way of combining the two.

I started college at 18 and originally was going to get my Bachelor's in Psychology and almost completed it but I decided that nursing was a better degree to spend my money on. I just graduated with my BSN at the end of last year and recently got my RN license. I am looking for my first job and would like to work in Mental Health. I lived with my parents until I moved out at the beginning of last year to live with my boyfriend : )

Got my LPN when I was 25-26, should have my RN/BSN next year when I'm 29. Only recently got into psych in nursing, but always appreciated psychology as a subject. Hope to go all the way and enter a PMHNP program after a little RN experience in a Psych setting.
