After pass NCLEX, what are immigration prospects?

I am sathya , from India. I am basically a master degree graduate In Nursing,(Community health nursing) planning to take up nclex exam,I need to know if i get through n clear nclex... Whether they r recruiting in USA? most of my friends r retained here with retrogression problem...

First, US is under retrogression with a 6-8 year wait for immigrant visas. I'm not sure what you mean by "I need to know if get through n clear NCLEX", do you mean if you pass the NCLEX are their jobs available? Passing the NCLEX is one step to earning US nursing license. There is almost NO international nursing recruitment going on in the USA. There is a shortage of experienced nurses in certain specialty areas, however there are many newly graduated US citizen & permanent resident nurses as well as experienced US nurses seeking full time employment. The demand is significantly lower than the supply.

In order to immigrate or travel to the US and work as a nurse, you first need to determine which state you would like to work. There is a link at the bottom of the forum for all the US boards of nursing. You need to go to the website for the applicable board of nursing and determine the application requirements for an internationally educated nurse. Many states (soon all per federal law) require a US social security number to apply and/or receive a nursing license. The only way to obtain a social security number is to be a US citizen, permanent resident or have a valid work visa. Most states use CGFNS for assessment of nursing education, other states like CA do their own assessment (but there are many barriers for internationally educated nurses to obtain a license in CA). You would complete the application and submit all required fees and documentation to CFGNS. Once the report is finished (approximately 6-12 months depending on the chosen state and the speed in which your documentation is received and assessed), you then apply to your chosen board of nursing as an internationally educated nurse for license by examination. If you meet the criteria you would be given permission to take the NCLEX-RN exam.

US states require nurses to be generally trained in pediatrics, obstetrics, psychiatry.mental health, geriatrics, and adult medicine.

if you where born in India then with retrogression you currently have a wait of 10 plus years in EB3. If you are fortunate to find a employer willing to employ you at a higher level ie NP if you have a Masters and the job has to match the category EB1 then visas are current so process would be quick. There are no EB2 visas available if born in India

As JustBeachyNurse, the one needed piece of information to get an application into review is the SS#, which many states now require or have recently changed in the past two years. CA in April, 2010 and VT last month, with more states soon to enforce this requirement.

My roommate's friends, two nursing students from other countries have been excluded to apply in CA as no SS#.
