hi. does anyone here have tried applying in afp medical center for rn residency this is a six months training. i just want to ask if they have physical requirement to those aspiring applicant? what if you are wearing eyeglasses can you still apply? because as what i've read on the other post they prefer those who are not wearing eyeglasses.

I just want to know if when would be the next qualifying exam and when would be the submission of the requirements?

hi one of my teammates at work is an rn and she already submitted her resignation letter for AFPMC...she's one of the applicants who underwent the screening process last time, she said the next screening would probably start 6 months after they're done with theirs.

thanks felicitypaul.. actually I was thinking of that too, but a friend of mine who happens to be an RN resident too batch August to Feb, told me that after passing the interview, we will undergo a didactic training for 3 weeks. And That would be 8-5pm Monday to Friday.. Unfortunately, it will be a conflict with my 6-2pm shift..

I cant give up my DJNRMH if I am not sure yet with AFPMC, any advice?

Yes. There is a didactic training. But as long as you are present in the class and pass the Return Demonstrations (which no one fails, because these are just basic nursing skills and procedures), you'll eventually be deployed in the hosp.

Cant you request to change your shift in DJNRMH? If youre on night shift in DJNRMH, then you can attend the didactics at AFP in AM. (Just choose a seat at the back, and you can sleep all day! Joke! :p)

hi evry one! i'm am an avid follower of this forum site b4 i became a part of the nurses corps of AFP..just so evry1 know, there are 2 kinds of trainings for nurses in the afpmc or vluna.1st is for d civilian people: its on a voluntary basis-meaning no compensation and the chance for being absorbed to be a staff nurse in the institution in barely possible unless u got someone inside(i know u know what i mean..) 2nd is for the nurse corps: you will be obliged to take the 6mos training(kind of gen. staff. course training) so as to be part of it. its basically a military-oriented training where you get to do all the push-ups,early morning wake-ups,running,comm. service,and everyting which tests your agility,stamina and stomach to do all the military stuff. The good side of this is,if you are eyeing to be a permanent nurse empployee of afpmc,this is the "sure" way of being so,provided that you get to pass all the hardships of being in the "military academy"...this infos are basically for general info only, to get first-hand infos regarding afpmc recruitment processes,i suggest you invest some money for fare and confirm it by yourself so as to be absolutely sure..thanks people!

i have head about the 3-weeks training offered by the vluna....is the same with first type of training you have mentioned (for civilian people)?

what are the requirements in applying for this type of training? when will be the next qualifying exam?

i would also want to try my luck at vluna....hope you can help me...tnx!

does anybody know when will be the next qualifying exam for volunteer nurses in afpmc?.....the one offerred for the civilian people like kalye ewan mentioned?

@jay_rulez108: i think the registration is open all year round.. just go to bulwagang valdez at camp aguinaldo for initial evaluation and passing of requirements
