AFP medical center RN residency

Published

hi. does anyone here have tried applying in afp medical center for rn residency this is a six months training. i just want to ask if they have physical requirement to those aspiring applicant? what if you are wearing eyeglasses can you still apply? because as what i've read on the other post they prefer those who are not wearing eyeglasses.

thank you in advance to those who will reply.

Hey guys, is AFP Med Center almost the same as PNPGH's setup? I had my med/surg ward duty in PNPGH when I was a student and I enjoyed it since I learned a lot from the people there. I would want to work in the same setting if possible. Thanks! :)

They are now currently accepting applicants for RN Residency. :yeah:

They are now currently accepting applicants for RN Residency.

Thank you so much, ennaoj26 for the information. What do you think is the best, to call the office for a registration and inquiry, or to simply drop by in their office for more detailed information?

I'm very much interested with this RN Residency..

By the way,

I took the board last 2007 but until now I couldn't find a job..Since, almost all hospitals are asking for fees for the training and no budget for that.

I'm poor and looking for a job wherein no money involve.

I finished nursing because of scholarship offered, without it may be I'm not in my status/position where I am right now.

I'm very much thankful that I read this fascinating thread/announcement, so I got hope and perseverance to fulfill my dream as a nurse.

I'm hoping that I could take the exam and grab the opportunity to qualify the said position.

I'm wishing and praying to each and everyone of us for the success of our chosen field of profession.

I'm happy to hear good news from this thread..

Thanks and God Bless!

I'm happy to be of help to anyone, besides we, unemployed nurses, should really be helping each other. To answer your question, the best way is for you to drop by their office and register your name on their log sheet, on the schedule you prefer, so you could sit for the exam. As for myself, I am scheduled to take it on June 9, I just went there a while ago. Better hurry 'coz I think June is the last month for giving the said exams and I know for sure that many nurses like us would take this rare opportunity (free training and all) which means SLOTS are LIMITED. There are no requirements needed for registration. After you passed the qualifying exam, you will then be asked to bring all the requirements (I copied this on their bulletin board):

Application letter

Resume with 2x2 ID

TOR

PRC card

Board rating

diploma

PNA card

cedula

NBI, police and barangay clearances

CXR

Proof of Hepa B Immunity

Well, I hope that I have answered your question. Goodluck to us! I hope we will be able to pass the qualifying exam. I was supposed to spend a lot of cash for training but thank God I came across this thread, I realized that there are other ways that you could gain knowledge without paying. We really should not let hospitals exploit us. Volunteering is way better than paying for a training. We have been trained for 4 years and passed the licensure exams for Pete's sake! We deserve to be paid as a PROFESSIONAL, we are professional nurses after all.:nurse:

@felicitypaul: Better to drop by for your exam schedule. Go straight to the NURSING TRAINING HALL DIVISION (near OPD). Have your name listed and have your exam schedule.

Requirements are also posted. HOWEVER, only those who will pass the exam will move to the next step. That is passing the needed requirements and interview process. Mind you, some do really fail in the interview.

the experience is all worth it most especially when you know you haven't paid any for the training. downside? you will feel a little abused. after four years of study and the board exam you have to work with no pay at all. just look on the positive side. you gain experience and you're 1 step higher from where you were before.

just a little word of advise: it's a 60:40 competition. 60 goes to the direct dependents or relatives of AFPMC or those in the military while 40 are for the walk ins. out of the 2000 examinees, only 100+ will have the chance to get the slot. review well.

exam is more of like the NLE. They also injected Select All That Apply of NCLEX. Computation is like 10 items. So better practice those drugs and IV computation.

To all aspiring RN-Residents, Goodluck. As far as I know, application is May-June of 2010.

@ennaoj26 and juella, Thank you so much....

Hope we pass the qualifying exam..

God bless us all..

You have to come personally to their office to register. You don't have to bring anything, you just have to log your name to get your exam schedule. That's it. I don't know about the IVT training. If you're from Cagayan de Oro you should probably find a hospital offering IVT training there. You can find a list of hospitals in IVTeam Philippines website.

hi good afternoon, Ive already called in AFP medical center, but sad to say the lady on the phone says that the slot for iv training this may 26-28 was already full...sad

Is the registration for the exams still open?

@ Steffie: yahh, they're still accepting new applicants..Just go there and log in to there log sheet. And there you'll see the schedule for the qualifying exam. Good luck!
