I am searching for the most affordable online FNP programs. I've considered Herzing since it offers scholarships with my company and GPA. I also came across NKU and it seems to be affordable and reputable. Any feedback on these schools or suggestions on other affordable online FNP programs that are reputable? Thanks for any suggestions!

Hi Terryb,
I can attest that Herzing is a great University to obtain your online FNP. I am a 2017 graduate and passed my certification on the first attempt! I found the school and staff to be extremely helpful, friendly and open to innovative ideas to reach my goals during my time there. I actually went on a humanitarian trip, bring medical supplies to the Virgin Islands after Hurricane Irma, and the nursing department and professors worked with me regarding my time off and studies and assignments. Needless to say I think they work at a global level and realize that one can learn in many different situations. The professors/instructors allowed me extra time for any projects/papers that I did not have completed prior to my trip...however...while on island...I was stranded and had to ride out Hurricane Maria! Believe me, going through a Cat 5 hurricane is an extremely innovative (not!) way of learning. But I jumped into the medical/hospital building and done what I could do! I said all that to say this, "Herzing works with their students to reach, obtain and sustain their goals"!
I have recommended Herzing to many of my friends and peers and about 5-6 of them are now in their FNP program! Plus, one is applying to the MSN - Nurse Educator track. The flexibility of the 8 week courses, along with 16 week clinicals allowed me to finish well before traditional land based programs. I wanted to get done early and held down a full time job as a Medical Surgical Director, house supervisor, plus I was teaching at the University level in nursing.
Call them and speak with someone!
Good luck,
Lo Swain, FNP-C (Herzing Proud!)
