Published

I recently had a nail drug test I wanted to know how long it usually takes to get the results back through affinity. It's went through USDTL

IT HAS BEEN 9 DAYS AND MY NAIL TEST IS NOT BACK...I CALLED AFFINITY AND THEY SAID IT SAYS IN-PROGRESS...BUT NO RESULTS....WHAT DOES THIS ACTUALLY MEAN AND HAS ANYONE EVER HAD A NAIL TEST TAKE SO LONG...I WAS WONDERING BECAUSE MY ANXIETY IS SO HIGH...I AM CLEAN...BUT STILL ANXIETY RUNS HIGH...PLEASE HELP...LOL

Are you in the evaluation process or do you have a monitoring agreement?

Specializes in ER, preop, infusion.

I've had plenty of hair, urine and blood tests but never had nails done. I had a hair test take 3 weeks and raised hell with Affinity and they did nothing. As soon as I reached out to my CM it miraculously was resulted same day.

Are you sure your CM just hadn't gotten around to posting the results?

It is most likely a positive result. But it essentially means the lab hasn't given an official report yet.

It means it arrived to the lab basically, but the one time it did happen to me my sample wasn't accepted

That would have been nice if that was my case. A sample that in no way shape or form should have been tested was still tested. My hair is at least 25 inches long. Cut that in half it is approximately 12.5 inches. The lady that collected my sample took the 12.5 inches, proceeded to ball it up like you would loose hair from the shower and placed it into the foil, the entire ball. USDTL even states on their own website that samples that don't have clear evidence of "root end" are not acceptable. With a hair sample balled up and with two freshly cut ends, there is absolutely no way to differentiate which end is "root end". 12.5 inches can give a history of at least 1.5 years. I have been clean for over a year when they took this sample. But yet I am being looked at as guilty due to positive that came with this sample. It should have never been tested! Another thing I have also discovered. Any ladies that have long hair and a history of use, you need to make sure to cut your hair to the 1.5 inches... because although they say they only test 1.5 inches, it is clearly a lie. If they "don't have enough".... they will take from further down to assure they get a result regardless of what they say and what it might mean to the patient.
