Who is responsible for checking expiration dates/batteries in your schools? Is it done by facilities maintenance or are you as the school nurse responsible?

Monthly and what a surprise.....put batteries in a few years ago with an exp date of 2017 and replaced them all last year. Fire Dept said because of the constant cycling they do drain quicker than you would think.....boo...I/we are so in the wring business. I wanna sell short lasting AED pads!!!! The Fire guys also check them whenever they are in the building.

My AED is located in hallway near gym. I check it monthly - battery life, pad expiration dates etc. Takes a minute to do, no big deal. Replacement batteries and pads are ordered thru our Nursing coordinator - we just email her with what we need and she gets it to us usually within 3 days.

I check monthly. We have one on each floor. The 1st floor one is outside my office and the 2nd and 3rd are located in the same area right above my office. One in the basement, one in the back of the gym, and 2 in the coaches office. All are in alarmed closets except for the ones in the coaches office.
