You need to talk to the employer without delay. You should not have planned this. Hopefully, they will work with you. At worst they will get rid of you and you will have poisoned your future chances with them. At best, they will provide some way to have your start date coincide with verification of your licensure.
Do you have an interim permit? If you do, you should be fine. But like everyone else is saying, discuss this with your employer or manager ASAP. Hopefully during your hiring/interview there was a mention discussion of your test date/not having a license on your date of hire and the facility's HR is aware. You don't want to put yourself in a bad position working without a license or IP and being reported to the state (that's bad for you and the facility you are working at).
Relax and be responsibility. It shows integrity being upfront with employers about these things :)
I don't see how a facility would hire you without checking your nursing license anyway?
I'm assuming that this company, like many others hires those who are pending to complete their NCLEX.
I wouild just clarify this with your employer, but I'm assuming they are aware of you not being licensed yet, so it should be fine, or they may delay your orientation.
well, considering the opinion of many people, I have sent an email to my nurse manager explaining my situation and would wait for her reply. I am feeling so relaxed now because she selected me out of 150 applications for just 3 vacancies on her floor and I really like my nurse manager.
Job is not easy in this economy and I will wait to see what God has in store for me.
thank you so much for helping me to get out of my dilemma.
THANK THANK THANK THANK YOU ! elkpark and caliotter3. for your advice. My nurse manager just called me and told me she has no problem giving me one more month to take NCLEX as she really likes me. She would keep my place till then.
She was advising me about how to answer questions next time . She even told me that I have all the qualities of being a good nurse and she'll wait for me. I am presently crying with tears rolling down my eyes that there are some good people in this world too.
Thanks all nurses Forum !

I have a job offer where I am suppose to start on 16th jan. I had applied for retesting for nclex and my status says that NCLEX has received my money and application and now evaluator has to release my eligibility to pearsonvue. pearsonvue will get my info electronically as soon as evaluator makes me eligible and I can pick exam date and take test.
I am all prepared to take my NCLEX any time but I am worried that if I take test just few days before my start date then can I rely on PVT trick only ( if I get good pop up)to think that I have passed and can start my job. My state does not participate in quick results but I have faith on PVT.
It might take 3-4 days to show on my state website, my test results but knowing I have passed can I SIT FOR MY ORIENTATION OR NOT ?
