Advice for taking the TEAS Exam with only three pre-nursing classes

Published

Hey Everyone,

I am looking for any advice on studying for/ taking the TEAS test. I will be taking it in Oct. so I have plenty of time to study, but I am a little worried because I only have 3 of my pre-nursing classes.

I took Anatomy and Physiology 1 and 2 and English comp. 1 this summer. I have a 4.0 gpa, but I'm worried I don't have everything I need to take the TEAS.

Any advice would be appreciated!

Thanks!!

Get the, study guide. The test is not on nursing material but basic entry level college or high grad stuff. The study guide will help focus you.

Depends are you comfortable with chemistry? Most of the chem is basic that you learn in general bio. and a&p but study the ati book it covers a bit of chemistry in it. I had a few microbiology questions on my exam and the only reason I knew how to answer them were from taking Micro. The ati book didn't cover the micro I had on my exam.

I do feel pretty confident in chemistry.

I just got my TEAS book in the mail and started looking at it, and I feel like I know most of it.

Do you know how representative the book is of the test? Everybody body at my school is telling me that the book is too easy, and the test is much more in depth.:bored:

Hey! If you look at the two stickies on this thread, you will find some really valuable information. I've shared those two posts with friends of mine who afterward said they were right on the money. I'm taking the test at the end of next month and am using these posts as a guideline. Good luck!

The ati online exams are harder than the exams in the book, IMO. I'd look into getting those and that should give a feel for the real thing. Main thing is to study everyday even if its just for a little bit. When you get your results from the online practice exam it will give you a break down on each sections so you can know what you need to focus your studies on.
