:redpinkheI am hoping to get into the LPN program January 09 class at my local college, I have purchased the study guide and am studying away. I waited 14 years to make this career change from the dental field. I am hoping to get in to on my first try... any stories/experiences (good or bad) of when you took the NET test?

Hi, Brenney ! - The only nursing experience I have so far is taking the NET :chuckle However, I found this link to practice tests for the NET very helpful:

http://www.testprepreview.com/net_test_breakdown.htm

I found that the actual math part of the NET was very similar to the practice math NET (and not very hard). The actual reading part of the NET was similar to the practice reading NET, but the actual was a little harder.

Good luck!

I got into a nursing program on my first attempt, but "life" happened and I was unable to accept it. I'm hoping to get in on my first attempt this time around.

I used the NET study guide, I'm looking back over it so I'm prepared to take it again, if necessary. There are other online resources that can help you prepare for it but I'd say that if you do the study as it suggests, you shouldn't have a problem with it.

Good luck!!!

Thanks! you too! :up::up:

Thanks so much!!!!!

The lil advice I have is watch your time. On the reading it goes by fast. I had to take the test twice b/c I was taking my time on the reading part and not watching the time and I ran out. What helped is do practice test and time yourself as if you were actually testing. Good luck

good advice, thank you!

I would spend a lot of time practicing reading comprehension. As other posts said, this is a timed test and you need to be able to read and get through the questions quickly. Also, the answers are not cut and dry and can be a little tricky. I would surf the internet for reading comprehension quizes for extra practice. Good luck!
