Hello everyone,
Any students at the Bloomberg School of Nursing at the University of Toronto here?
Did anyone get in with an average slightly below a 3.0?
What advice would you give to someone applying next year? Are grades the most important factor? What if you have years of experience in the hospital and research setting, for example?
Thanks in advance. ^_^

You wouldn't get in with a 3.0. U of T is very competitive. Your experience wouldn't over come your GPA. You may need to try to bring it up. Good luck.
Have you completed the prerequisites for the Bloomberg program?
Oh.
I have completed the prerequisites, yes.
Can you recommend other schools/courses of action?
Thanks so much.

Unfortunately I don't think your GPA is competitive enough for U of T's program. Maybe you could look into taking a bunch of classes to increase your GPA. I don't think this would work for U of T though, because I think they use your GPA from your degree only...but it could do the trick for other schools.
Would a 3.0 be competitive for the second entry level program at York? Does relevant experience add value there?
Thanks everyone.
You could try York or Trent. You could also look at the Mo/Mac collaborative program.
Relelvant experience won't over come a low GPA.
Thanks so much for your advice. I really appreciate it. I'll take more courses and apply to multiple programs.
If there's any other advice out there for someone who is applying, I'd love to hear it.

McMaster is also extremely competitive. Admission averages are 85% minimum upwards to 90%+ depending on the stream.
Thanks, vintagePN, ambrr and loriangel14.
Good luck. let us know how you make out.
Definitely. :)
