Hi! I'm officially begin my LPN diploma in September. I'm currently doing the few courses they will allow you to take ahead of time. I'm looking for guidance from those with experience. :)
Were there any additional resources (study guides), etc you found helpful? Are they worth the money?
Any suggestions for study techniques? I know this can be subjective to the individual, but as a mother with two little guys I can use any tips I could get.
Is it worth buying brand new books to use the online resources, (wileyplus etc)?
Also, is there a brand of stethoscope you would recommend? Are the more expensive cardio scopes worth the price?
Thank you! I really appreciate any input

"LPN Notes" from Barnes and Noble. The one thing that also helped was buying a NCLEX-PN Review book and using the CD to take tests in the same subject as what we were learning in class. That really helped me on the NCLEX I believe. Just do not let yourself get behind. Staying on task is hard, getting back on task is harder. Good luck, I'm sure you will do great!

I'd recommend you invest in an NCLEX-PN book, especially one with a cd. NCLEX questions are hard and the more exposure you get to them the better off you'll be. As far as a stethoscope, while in school I use the same $30 stethoscope that I use in the back of my ambulance, I picked it up at my local nursing uniform store and have found that it works more than well. I wouldn't spend the money on a really fancy stethoscope unless you are truly having a hard time hearing or you start working in a specialty that requires it.

I have an NCLEXPN book by Saunders and it didn't come with a CD. It comes with a code.
Is it fair to say all tests in the nursing program or NCLEX in nature?
Tomorrow starts fundamentals. Even though I'm in week 5, this will be the 'real' stuff. Clinical a start on Friday and our first test will be that following week. The first 4 weeks were Core.
Thank you very much for the input! I appreciate it!
