My license is on probation d/t positive pre-employment drug screen (THC). Completely clean now but missed 5 NTS calls. Now have to go before board and have no way to pay for a lawyer. Has anyone been thru this and tell me what will happen or advice. Thanks

This is not something I would approach without an attorney. There's also a recovery discussion thread on the main page of AN. They are a wealth of guidance and support. Check it out!Best wishes.

It sounds like you did in fact miss calling in... When I first got involved in this I hired an attorney to help me through the process quickly- what happened was much different as the board saw him as a challenge to their authority. With attorneys try to get a free consult if you are going that route.

I like the Legal Aid idea, although I would be surprised if they have anyone directly involved in healthcare law--it is always advisable to have an attorney experienced in dealing with professional healthcare boards; but I bet they could give you some idea of what to expect and how you could handle it. Good luck--let us know how it goes!

After missing 1 u are on their "radar". After missing 2, u would be (generally) sent before the board to exp. what factors caused the problem. Possibly even then getting sent back to rehab or a longer contract may given. JMO, I would definetly seek an attorney if at all possible. Is a TOS violation, but I did want to give my .02 if it might help - but attorney would prob be a requirement for any kind of leniency. Anne, RNC
