Hi
I've been trying to research different travel companies, but their our so many. I'm trying to narrow it down to at least two. Has anyone ever worked for the following companies and if so was the good and bad of your experience?
Bridgestaffing
Cross Country

Faststaff
RN Network
Thank you
I am currently working for RN Network and they have NOT been sold. You must be thinking of some other company. I have worked with them since 2000 and think they are great. I have never had a problem with a paycheck or housing. My recruiter, Judy Wilson, is always available and able to help if needed. You always get a real person, and not just a voice mail. I have taken short assignments with Intellistaf when RN Network could not find exactly a spot I wanted at the time, and have been satisfied with them as well. But on the whole, I think RN Network has the best insurance benefits I have seen, starts 1st day, double overtime and private housing. I chose them initially because of their great benefits and other agencies have come up to their standards in many ways, but I will not change as long as they can provide the assignments I need.

"my recruiter was chrissi pagi, and i loved her."
agree 1000%
When I called Faststaff the thing that stuck out in my mind after talking with a recruiter was that all the assignments had a mandatory 4 day work week. (12 hr shifts) When I travel it's usually because I want to enjoy a little of the place I visiting. I felt I would just be sleeping all the time working nights that much every week.
I am beginning my second assignment with Cross Country. I have a great recruiter. There are things about the company I don't like. I feel they are sort of inflexible about houseing. They only deal with corporate housing. So if the housing isn't in the location you want, then you have to go with it. They have absolutely beautiful properties thoug. I wish they worked with the per diem rates - - -non taxable income. Since they don't, I just have to make deductions at the end of the year.
My first assignment was READYLINK.....smaller company in California. They were completely flexible. I loved them. The only problem is that they don't own as many contracts.
faststaff is the company for those who want to pound out the hours and make a lot of money. some nurses i know, like to work their little behinds off, then take it easy for a month. some do 13 weeks on and then 13 weeks off. fast staff is also the agency for nursing strikes. they are probably the number one company in the industry that deals with that. also, they deal with shorter term needs. you can sometimes find four week assignments. hence the name.... f a s t staff.
:imbar wow, i live in salt lake city and i didn't know. i have heard of comphealth. in fact, i think they contacted me. it will be interesting to see what develops. i'm almost ready to leave slc for an assignment at cedar sanai ucla in beverly hills. but i will definately track what is in my own back yard. thanks for the heads up. :balloons:
I am about to go with medcial Express but now have reservations as I see other companies are not requiring you to drag pots and pans , linens and things. I don't need their health insurance (hubby retired Gov't). Don't you think I should ask for a housewares pkg to compansate. And the company does chareg for private housing. Also, I want to know where they are putting me up before I sign the contract. My recruiter said my pkg comes to 40.00 an hour. Is it the company or because I am psych? Going to Santa Rosa Ca.......Help I am really nervous.
I traveled for a year and a half with American Mobile - I have heard some really bad things about them after I started and I never had any troubles. After talking with other travelers I think it comes down to your recruiter. I had a great one and thats probably what made the difference/QUOTE]I hope that it works as I am a first time traveler and scared. Seems other companies have more perks like rental cars and housewares?????

just be aware that if you do decide to work with fastaff, you won't be welcomed with open arms if you work in a unionized hospital. the nurses there know the type of nurses who work for fastaff and generally don't take kindly to them.try another company if you care about such things ;-)

Decide what you want, then shop around for it.
If you find a recruiter you like, tell them. Even though it isn't company policy they may do it...fer instance....I was talking to a recruiter the other day and asked about insurance benefits.
She told me they start "the first of the month after you start working."
Okay, yesterday was the THIRD, so I would have to wait nearly a month.
I let her know that that was not really in my gameplan, and she offered to have my insurance and benefits start from DAY ONE.
Most of the better agencies will start their benefits for you from day one.
To my way of thinking, if you are travelling, you should get benefits from your first day on the job.
Know what you want and pitch it to the recruiters. You're interviewing them as well as vice versa.
