Advice needed - administrative action.

Hello everyone,

I am new to this forum and I am trying to get some information regarding an issue I have. About a year ago, I went in front of an Administrative Law Judge regarding false allegations that were placed against me (I asked for the hearing). Unfortunately, with all the witnesses I had testifying for me, my employers testifying for me, I was still excluded from employment in residential facilities with Department of Social Services. I was not criminally charged, no police reports, no criminal court, nothing, just an administrative hearing I pushed for. I am thinking about going into an LVN program, but I am worried it may hinder me from getting my license in the long run. I am worried about spending so much money and being told "no" at the end. Any advice or information would be so greatly appreciated.

Truly, we cannot answer such important questions. You really should not make life-altering decisions based upon internet responses.

Either research this through the BON for your state or ask an attorney familiar with legal nursing issues.

We are not allowed to give legal advice. From a practical standpoint, I would not do it unless and until you get your name cleared.

You could request a meeting with someone from the BON in your state. I don't know how available someone would be. Alternatively, you could meet with an attorney who specializes in nurse licensing issues. That person may be able to give you more information to help you make an informed decision.
