Advice for ltc interview

Published

I recently quit a job at an ltc due to the fact that I didn't want to lose my license because of all the bad care I witnessed. I have an interview soon with another ltc, but when I sent them my resume it had the place I quit at listed as my current job. What would be the best thing to say as to why I quit that job so soon? I really don't want to say anything bad about the company, but I really don't want to lie.

I wouldn't even bother going to another LTC...they are all the same essentially.

Do you have any other experiences? I honestly wouldn't even list that one on my resume.

Hi LeChein.

Unfortunately LTC is my only experience. I will leave it off my resume in the future.

Thanks for for your reply.

Don't blame your previous company or tell stories about how bad it was. It doesn't matter if it's true- most people won't care unfortunately.

If they ask why you left it's enough to say that it wasn't a good fit with your values or something along those lines. In my opinion leaving one job shouldn't be too much of a black mark. Good luck!

Why would you quit one LTC job only to go to another LTC job? I have yet to work 1 LTC job that is different than the rest.

You didn't say how long you were at the LTC facility but it's not good advice to leave it off your resume, unless it was less than a month. Otherwise, you'll be finding yourself explaining the gap between jobs and why you were out of work for so long. Better to say that it wasn't a good fit for you personally and/or professionally.
