Advice about Job Offer

Published

Hello, I am in need of some help or advice regarding a job position.

So I am about to graduate and had signed up for a 2-year contract with the hospital I wanted. I was already going to apply there anyway and so it was an opportunity that I thought was worth it since they'd pay for my school tuition. However, although I completed the initial interview, they only offered to let me interview for a medsurg position instead of what I wanted. I completed the second interview for medsurg since I felt it was in my best interest; however, my primary preference is ICU. I am currently interning at the same facility in MICU. I have spoken to the clinical director about my interest, but my application is being blocked by the recruiters. How do I write an email about wanting them to send my application to the ICU team for consideration? I know there are positions available since the clinical director mentioned them to me herself. She is also interested in interviewing me and I have not accepted any offers. I know other facilities have available ICU options as well. I have applied and waiting for interviews to start, but as I mentioned, I prefer this facility. I am unsure of how to approach this situation. I don't want to burn bridges, but I really want ICU.

Why can't the clinical director talk directly to the recruiters?

I think she can, but from what the other nurses have told me, she isn't someone who takes initiative. She'll apparently drag her feet until a candidate takes another job somewhere else. I want to increase my odds with this position and move it forward for her.
