Advice for career after voluntary license surrender

I am a home health nurse who worked for two different companies simultaneously. Stupid me didn't keep good records so many of my visit times overlapped. I made every last visit. I have an attorney and he is working with me. My BON agreed to a voluntary surrender of my license but was wondering if anybody knew of anyone who also did this or is going through this themselves. I've also been reported to the National Practitioner Data Bank. I am currently in school for Information Systems Management but many of those jobs require a background check. I will not be prosecuted criminally but will have the Order as a public record on the BON website. I would like any and all advice on this. I feel awful because I am being accused of fraud. I definitely agree what I did was stupid and careless and I have learned my lesson. Are there any careers that I can pursue where this won't come up? Should I petition to get my license back eventually? What should I do?

I don't have any advice but I wanted to wish you all the best. Maybe someone here has been through something similar and can give you words of wisdom. I will say....you did the best thing by getting a lawyer! Hang in there.
