I am considering a career change. After being in the business world for a number of years, i have decided that it is not for me. I have a BA in Technology Management and last year began a program for my Masters in Clinical Counseling. While I am enjoying the classes, I have always wanted to be a nurse an find myself changing my collegiate path as well. Essentially, I am looking for the quickest cost effective way to become an RN. Since I already have a degree, I have been researching the programs that are geared for those of us with bachelors degrees. There were two that maybe doable one is Remington (very expensive and 1.45 hours from where I live but more lax in admissions) and USF who is a bit more picky. Problem is that my undergrad GPA is 2.97 and the minimum is 3.0. Not sure if I would even be considered at USF. I am planning on taking the pre-reqs at HCC to get a head start on what I need. There is also South University but the cost is also obscene but I will get done in 14 months. I am open to other avenues toward a BSN. My other concern is transferability of credits as I plan to get my MSN toward becoming a NP. That being said, many of the techical colleges are expensive and offer on ADN and not all of their credits are transferable--that is what I heard and I am not sure if that is true or not.
Thanks for the advice!
