ADN Fall2021 El Centro / North Lake College (DCCCD)

Hi Everyone,

I've been looking all over for a way to communicate with other students looking to apply to the Nursing program in the Fall of 2021 at either El Centro or North Lake Campus. Deadline is January 31st, I'm working on the check list and trying to find a testing center for the HESI A2 for November. Is anyone taking the HESI anytime soon? I'd like to keep in touch through this journey of ours!

Yep, I am also in the same process for applying to the Fall 2021 program. I emailed the nursing director and attended a registration session online with them for instructions to schedule my HESI. You'll need to set up an Elvisier and a Proctor U account beforehand as well.

Not yet, I'm scheduled to take my HESI Dec. 12th. How was it? How did you do, if you don't mind me asking?

I did really well! I got 90s in majority of the sections except grammar, I got a 78% which is two points away from the 80% that is required. ?

I'd recommend using Nurse hub for practice test and math dude on Youtube for the math portion. That really helped me prepare and contributed to my success on the test.

Wow, those are great scores! The grammar may still be OK because they do the grammar, reading, and vocabulary as a composite score, I believe. I have been using nursehub, math dude, and a fb HESI study group page and plan to hit it hard this week while I have vacation time off work. Thank you for the info and good luck to you as well!

Just checking in! How did the HESI go?

Hey, thanks for checking in! I killed the HESI! Got 95% for the reading, grammar, vocab score. 100% for A&P, and 98% for math. My cumulative score was 96.80% I cried with relief afterward LOL. Just have to finish this Winter mester class and get antibody titers and I'll be ready to apply. How is the process going for you?

Awe that is so awesome!!! No doubt you're getting in! I just need to get a couple of titers, physical and I can apply. I took the HESI twice. I made close to a 100% in each section except for grammar (78%) and had to take it again ?. The 2nd time around I got a 100% in Anatomy, 90 in Reading, 92 in vocab, 82 in math and grammar. Which I really wanted higher but I rushed myself because I was afraid of running out of time.

I should've took a wintermester class but had no idea that it existed. Well, good luck to you! I hope we both get in ??

Your 2nd scores are good too! It sounds like we both have great chances of getting in. Good luck to you too, fingers definitely crossed, girl!!??

What did you use for A&P ? I take mine on the 31st. I’m so nervous!

I took A&P 1 and 2 in the fall semester, and was currently finishing up 2 when I took the HESI so everything was fresh. The questions were pretty much the fundamental basics. Nurse hub helped some but was more in depth than necessary, I thought.
