Just wondering who's starting the awesome journey with me? I went to orientation and now its starting to feel real!!
Im not expecting anything to be at our BON for two more weeks. A lot of our December grads are still looking for jobs, I know at least 25% of the Spring class has a job. Almost all were from connections we had at work or clinical. Nobody without a medical background has a job yet. It's very hard to get an interview in CT with an ASN.
Our names were also on the BON website within the week of being done! Crazy! I take my NCLEX in a few weeks, eek! No job prospects as of yet thanks to me moving. If I were staying I'd have a job where I did my preceptorship! I'm bummed about that, but oh well, gotta go where my hubby and kids are!
Good luck to all upcoming test takers!

Well hello. I hope this is the same person, just a name change. Congrats to you!!! I haven't heard from you in awhile. I graduate next year, Lord willing. I had a lot of stuff going on 2nd semester and I had to repeat but everything is going great. I'm number 4 in my class so I will soon be like you :-) Take care and enjoy
Hello Vann,
Yes it's me!! I have been wicked busy. I took 2 BSN classes while studying for boards. I took my boards 3 weeks after graduation, almost 2 months ago. I just finished 2 more classes. I was lucky to get a job in the CT, especially with an ASN. I am sure you will do well. my best friend in school has to repeat one semester. She is a great nurse, just had too much going on in her personal life. Keep in touch its nice to hear from you.
I am so happy for you. I know you worked really hard. I cannot wait to graduate and start my BSN. I talked with a school and I have taken all the pre-req for the program so all they are doing is looking for me to graduate, pass NCLEX, and apply. I feel better this time around. I eliminated a lot of things that were stressing me out in my personal life. Just School, my daughter and me. How are you liking OR nursing?
The OR is OK? I've been in the OR for 20 years I actually miss medsurg. I like interacting with patients and autonomy. The OR is a team effort which is really nice but you have to rely on the whole team to do your job and the patients aren't awake. I feel like ive already lost so much knowledge especially meds, since I basically don't do meds! it was a job and the money was great. I know a lot of people would kill to come to the OR, but after my BSN I am leaving!

I am shocked at how quickly my classes names were posted to the BON! We are on the quarter system so we were told that the semester programs who finish quicker than us would probably be worked on before our classes......turns out ours were posted within a week of graduation(gosh maybe less like 6 days).
