Where in Georgia? If you're wanting to work in Atlanta, most places prefer a BSN.

It also depends on your financial situation. Asn programs at state colleges are much cheaper than bsn programs at the universities.

I'm currently in school for my ASN. I wasn't too sure if I was making the right decision so I asked a nurse. The nurse that I asked stated that she went for her ASN which allowed her to complete her degree in 2 years and begin working as a nurse. She then went back to school for her BSN. What she said made made me think, and helped me make my final choice to get my ASN. Everyone is different and as a mother of 2 I personally didn't have the luxury of working part-time for 4 years while trying to attain my BSN. At least when I'm finished with my ASN I know that I'll be able to find a career while still being able to go back to school.

Everyone has their own circumstances with family, and finances but think what is going to be best for you. Good luck!!

My Dad stays in Riverdale, so with me being new to the state I probably will be in the same area. I also have a child and she will b starting her first year of school this fall, so I will be working part-time I was concerned about that as well. Trying to work,go to school, and be a mom with a child so young stresses me out just thinking about it.I wanted to do the adn just because it will b quicker, but I want the bsn for myself so im really stuck in finding a way to balance my dreams and responsibilities.
