Admission to BHSON 2014

Published

Hi,

I recently submitted my application to Bridgeport Hospital School of Nursing for this fall. Who is with me? I'm so excited yet nervous. I hope I get in. Anyone got and acceptance letter ye?

Yes I went to January open house. Day program for me as well. Might as well since it turns into day anyways. I just checked sonis they're up on mine too. So exciting, I just want orientation now.

I know we should be getting our information packets in May. Which cannot come soon enough! The open house was cool it was obviously not for accepted students but I just wanted to figure out a good driving route and what not.

Yeah definitely. Good idea! Yeah my friend gave me a large stack of her books from both years and her notebooks too, it scared me. But it'll help us. & Are you commuting from hamden?

That's great! When did she graduate? Was it from Bridgeport? Yes I'll be commuting from here. Where do you commute from? Have you figured out the best route yet?

Yeah I was so grateful. Saved lots of money. She's graduating next week, yes from Bridgeport. I commute from New Haven/Hamden line (East Rock). I think straight highway is the easiest way. I live right near the highway. We may have to eventually become carpooling friends haha

That's awesome. It is always nice to have someone who has already gone through the program. I took the parkway on Thursday to Bridgeport and then took the highway to the parkway on the way home. Is the school right there when you get off of the highway exit?

Yes it's only a few minutes away from the exit. I think it was about two turns

I sent in my acceptance into the program on Tuesday and still cannot login as a student. Did it take a while for them to change your status?

So....I got into Springfield Tech comm college. It was a huge long shot for me. I am kind of torn not only because I paid BHSNs deposit but because I have committed to it mentally thinking that was it, I wasn't going to get into STCC so just take it and dive in.

However, STCC has some pretty amazing articulation options, and amazing sim lab and is really close to my family (hello?! Babysitters!) I can stay over at families and have a 10 minute drive to clinical instead of and hour plus one way. (BHSN for me on a REALLY good day is an hour. It can be up to 2). STCC on a good day/early morning is 45 minutes and can be less. It is also a much easier drive. I am going to pay STCC and see what the transfer credits look like (I have a cruise boat of credits and am very protective of them). I'll let you all know what happens!

I'd say it took about 4 or 5 days. I called to make sure they received my deposit and the day after they changed my status

Hello, I brought in my acceptance fee on the 25th of march, and I was literally only able to log in as student about a week and a half ago. Depends on how fast they are moving, it might take awhile.

Congrats!! I say go for the school that's going to be the most beneficial in all aspects, you know? Especially with a family. So far, STCC sounds like the winner! :) Can you get a refund from Bridgeport?
