Admission to BHSON 2014

Published

Hi,

I recently submitted my application to Bridgeport Hospital School of Nursing for this fall. Who is with me? I'm so excited yet nervous. I hope I get in. Anyone got and acceptance letter ye?

I am headed for the TEAS test on the 19th anyone doing that as well?

I'll be there!

Fella's, (Dior and Coachremson),

BHSN has been closed 3 days in the past 2 weeks due to snow. ******, the woman in charge of processing the paperwork, has been processing all the paperwork for all the people that waited until the last minute to hand in applications. When I saw her last week she was overwhelmed. Like you, I handed in my stuff a few weeks ago and my status has not been updated on the website. I'd give it a week or so and check again. I doubt that any decisions will be made anytime soon as people have til the end of the month to get in paperwork and take the TEAS.

Myoclonicjer, I'm not even talking about the status of my application, I'm talking about not even recieving my username/password. Also, Myoclonicjerk, didn't you say in a previous post that you were accepted to BHSON, you and your friend?

Dior,

I handed in my check on Fri, 1/24 to reserve my spot as I received an acceptance letter. I was told that my status would change from "letter sent" to "accepted". It has not been updated so far. I understand your frustration but it seems like the snow has been delaying things. That was the only point of my post. They have been closed 3 days in the past two weeks, including today. I think everyone's status has not been updated. I know a few others in your situation. You have a 4.0 and a 69 TEAS score. Not many people can claim a 4.0, I sure can't. Good Luck...

Thanks Myoclonicjerk, would you mind sharing what you received on the TEAS? I'm just so nervous that a 69 on the TEAS will get me rejected.

I can understand the wait. Even if I don't like it. :) I just need to focus on the TEAS for now and not fret the rest I guess.

Yeah, I can totally understand that wait, thats not an issue. It's just I would like to know where things are at, and like I said in previous post, I'm freaking out over my TEAS score, especially when a previous student made a comment on how BHSN weighs the TEAS according to degree status.

Yeah... Kick ass on the TEAS coachremson. Focus on studying from the TEAS book. ATI offers a practice test on their website for like $35 or something like that. It's well worth it. You'll learn how to take the test from the practice and the types of questions that they ask. I posted a link with some suggestions in an earlier post. It's really spot on. Dior. I did well on the TEAS, 86.9. However, BH said that TEAS does not matter as much as GPA, unless you bomb. 69 is not bombing, that is on par with the 10 or so people that I know that applied. They don't have 4.0's either. Hopefully you get some info soon. Good Luck.

Thank Myoclonicjerk, that relaxed me a little bit. Is your GPA high, any medical experience, or previous degree's? I'm just trying to get a taste of the people they accept, if you don't mind me asking.. If so, I apologize :)

I have a Bachelors Degree. GPA was 2.85. When I decided I wanted to go to nursing school, I took all the prereq science classes and did well on all them: chem, AP, and Micro. I do not have medical background.

Ok, so you applied to BHSN with a 2.85, or it was a little higher due to your science pre-reqs?

Yes, 2.85 from my bachelors. Not sure how they figure out the GPA. I don't think that it would have changed the GPA too much though, I had like 132 credits.
