Adive on any associate programs?

my original plan in nursing was to finish my GE at a community college then transfer to a University for my BSN. But the closer I'm coming to graduating from my community college I'm finding its to hard to get into a University I wanted b/c its really competitive and with the economy its becoming even harder then expected. So I'm planning for plan B and that is where I hope someone can help me with. Instead of transferring to a 4yr BSN program in the Fall of 2010 I was thinking about just getting my associates instead. Does anyone recommended a school I should attend for getting my associactes? I live in the San diego area so I would like to keep in local. I heard Grossmont College AA program was good and was recommended by other nurses but its a 4yr wait!! are their any other GOOD schools that offer a associates prgram for nursing?

Also if you can offer any tips on becoming a traveling nurse that would be helpful :)

Thanks so much!

I will be honest, you can't go wrong with any ADN program there in San Diego. I've heard so many good things about a lot of them. Kaplan (formely Maric) might be a bit pricy but it's an excellent school. I've worked with their gradutes and they are great nurses. You have the right idea about going with plan B. Make sure you do go on to get your BSN if that's your ultimate goal. Don't stop at ADN. Don't get me wrong, there's nothing wrong with ADN graduates (I'm going for ADN for now) but you had an original goal, and I suggest you stick with it. Good Luck
