I think Hallmark should make a bigger deal over Nurses Week.or even Nurses Day. I mean , who takes the most care of you wherever you are? It sure isn't the Dr giving you a bedpan or a pain med!!! Or even making sure your medication is correct. I think if we all try hard, we could get as much recognition as the secretaries. (I never met a ward clerk I didn't thank.)

color=deeppink]i am new at my hospital, so i dont know what they are doing for nurse week this year, but last year they gave out bags that you can carry your stuff in, with a big shoulder strap. not duffel bags, the ones that sort of look like brief cases but are fabric with a zipper on top. i'll let you know what they do this year :)

Okay, so what does your hospital (or other workplace) have planned for nurses week?
Anything planned that has a little more substance than the usual plastic flashlights, or $1.50 sunglasses giveaways?
Wouldn't it be nice to see nurses on TV that week telling it like it REALLY is?
Wouldn't it be nice if we could do an activity which proved to ourselves nurses CAN stand-up and be counted?... like some sort of demonstration?
Why aren't nurses out there more in the public eye educating the public as to what we go through?
Help me out here, am I missing something? Wouldn't be the first time (smile)!
