So ,I was accused of verbal abuse to a Pt. by a CNA . Three days after the incident I was sent home pending investigation. Today they called me to say my employment was terminated. That the state would be notified but not the board. Is that right? It doesn't sound right. Should I get an attorney ? what about the CNA they lied cant I get them for slander or defamation of character? what should Io?

Agreed. But given that you are considering legal action, you would be wise to limit what details you do post online.
As far as whether the CNA lied...well, they may have. If that's the case, then talk to an attorney about your legal options. But keep in mind it's going to take more than your word vs. theirs to win a slander suit.
Or they may not have lied. It's very possible that something you said to the patient that you didn't think was verbal abuse could have been construed--or misconstrued--by a patient and/or CNA as being abusive. It can and does happen, and nurses do go in front of the BON for it.
I would get that attorney ASAP, especially if they say they're reporting it to ANYONE. You can find referrals to lawyers versed in dealing with BONs and nursing issues here: TAANA Executive Office - Home
I wish you the best of luck.
