  1. Convicted of murder as a teen and now a nurse

From what I have read, this person has been a nurse for several years now. Why is this bothering you now?
  2. Childhood Obesity: Breaking the Cycle

While I agree that childhood obesity is on the rise, I don't think that having restrictions on television advertisements is the answer. Who determines what is appropriate and what isn't? How far will those restrictions go? People should be able to...
  3. Many of the nursing homes in my area are transitioning to 12 hour shifts. I think that it is going to become more and more common, for many places, and not just hospitals. I personally like the 12 hour shifts, and having more days off a week. I am 4...
  4. I hate night shift

To the OP, I was just curious if you have separation issues from your husband, when he has to work and it's your day off. If you do, then that could be a problem. But, if you only feel this way (crying) when you have to leave him to go to work, the...
  5. This thread is old.
  6. Does. Anyone like their CNA job??

I am a CNA and work in a hospital setting. Most days, I do like my job. I have been a CNA for 12 years. Around here, it is very hard for a brand new CNA to get work in a hospital, unless they are experienced. I started out in a LTC facility, and ...
  7. Easter/Passover

Does anyone celebrate both? I do, and was just curious if anyone else did, as well.
  8. Accusations of verbal abuse! Now what happens?

Without details, it's hard to form an opinion.
  9. Snow & calling out of work

Trust me. Around here, the police would never give me a ride to work. Nor would I want, or expect them to. They have more important things to do, than playing chauffeur for the day. Never once, have I ever thought about that being an option. Why...
  10. Snow & calling out of work

While I agree with you that folks need to be responsible and go to work, I did have to chuckle about calling the police for a ride to work. If I called the police to take me to work during every storm, I would get an ear full, after they managed to ...
  11. Snow & calling out of work

I can imagine all too well, the scene you described. Those are typical winter driving conditions here in the northeast. We call it Tuesday. It's something that you never fully get used to, but I do what I have to do, because I have bills to pay. ...
  12. What have you lived through? (Let's reminisce)

Growing up, when I had a cold, I was given Father Johns. I remember watching "The Homecoming" when it aired on television the first time. (One of my favorite Christmas shows, even to this day) That movie lead to the series "The Waltons", which I wat...
  13. Should I let my manager beat me at Trivia Crack

Well, you would certainly have an advantage over her. You're alive, and she's.....um.....dead.
  14. White pants. Freaking white pants.

When I was doing my CNA clinicals and classes, we had to wear white pants. I didn't think too much about it. I invested a little bit into the scrubs, to get a good quality pant, that wasn't see through. I still wore flesh colored or white underwea...
  15. Does anybody else feel guilty about calling off?

That is how it's been at any place I have ever worked too. Multiple sick days in a row, counted as one sick day. If employees were sick for three or more days in a row, they had to bring in a doctor's note, when they returned to work.
