ACCEPTED! Tips & Advice Appreciated!

Published

I am beyond thrilled to announce that I have just received my acceptance letter in the mail and will be attending nursing school starting spring 2015! I am looking forward to starting this new chapter of my journey to becoming the best RN I can be! Along with my overly obnoxious excitement, I feel completely terrified and suddenly unprepared. Of course I have received the million page information packet with uniform order forms, lists of required immunizations, books and supplies that need to be purchased, and other items that need to be prepared during the coming months - and it's all a little overwhelming. I figured any tips or advice (personal stories always welcome) that anyone could offer for my first semester of nursing school would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks so, so much! :)

the MADE EASY BOOKS:

Medical Surgical made easy

and the

Hogan books are excellent.

I always typed directly on to my powerepoints and then printed it, i also recorded lectures. I also believe a lot of my great grades came from googling random questions per topic on quizlet.com

:)

Get a calendar that will fit in a binder and write on it/use your smart phone dates for tests, projects etc. Spend your money on your nursing shoes--make sure they are comfortable and have good support!! Buy used texts when you can(make sure they are the same edition as what is being used in lecture), take some multivitamins, get decent amount of sleep throughout your program! Welcome to the beginning of a wonderful, stimulating journey!!
