Thats awesome! Im confused on the score. The lady that was at the test pointed out the score they look at which 92. She said that was the percentile so guessing 90th percentile. I think I got one of the last few seats. She did say they accepted quite a few already. Are you going to register for day or night?
Hi oldcatlady71 & belladciccio
I'll be joining you at this fall too. Regarding completing the BSN at Farmingdale after the ADN, the admission rep said for the most part they don't accept ADN graduates. The curriculum is too different. But the hard part is getting the RN. After that your BSN options are vast. She said we can complete the BSN at Stonybrook which offers it online.
I'm nervous because of all the stuff I hear about attrition at nursing school. But I've been told good things about this program. Also anyone heard about how the registration process works? Is it hard to get classes at a particular time day, evening, weekend?
Dont worry about the BSN yet. There are so many schools that offer ADN to BSN. Post offers it and has a lot of flexibility for the working nurse. A lot of hospitals offer tuition reimbursment for staff who would like to return for a BSN. Cross that bridge when you get there. Im hoping to get into New Island for clinics because I live in Farmingale so its only 5 minutes from home. I wonder when we can register. Probably after orientation. We probably get to meet our advisor that day. That is why its from 9-3. Do you know whick web site the uniforms come from?
I think the registration is on the 17th when we go in there. I hope its not like alphabetical I don't want to end up registering at the end you know! I am unemployed right now (got laid off :/) so my schedule is free for anything but I was planning on getting a part time job when my benefits are over. But if the schedule is too crazy I'm not going to push my self.
Last night there was a death in my family and we are having the burial on this Friday the 17th. I am so terribly torn, I had so many questions and was really looking forward to going to the orientation. My father insists on me going because school is important but I can't NOT be by his side in his time of need losing his sister and pay my respects to my aunt. Does anyone know if they have a late orientation or if I could make an appointment to come earlier? Any information would be greatly appreciated.
