So I was wondering when I was going to hear from Kaynor, and believe it or not, nothing. I called over there, they are closed for the summer. No letter, not even, sorry for applying but you didnt make it. I called the Main number and she was surprised... and promised to get back to me. I mean put a person out of their misery at least.... Let me make other plans, have a plan B... just really disgusted... I expected them to follow thru and so I would know where I stand. has this happened to anyone else?? Did anyone else apply to the tech program and just not hear back??

Hi Regi,
Just thought I might share a little insight.. I got into Vinal's LPN and on our sheet it says Kaynor had their orientation June 20th, (It lists all the other orientations as well as ours). You should have got a letter by now either way.
I received my letter today. I didnt even make the waiting list. The Admin asst called me back yesterday to tell me I was not on the list, but she was not sure about the waiting list. I am disappointed especially since Kaynor called me a few days before the deadline to ask why I hadnt applied. They received my test results and said they were high... its like they just wanted my money... (smile) They also called me the Monday after the deadline to ask about the classes I was taking... Well, I guess I will keep on the track to RN. I wanted the LPN so I could start making some money in the meantime to RN land. I still have preqs to take before I can apply to nursing school and I really dont want to go the private school route... $30,000 for a LPN or an RN degree is too much money for me right now. I still have this grant from Unemployment for $3000, I not sure where to use it. I could have used it for Clovis but I was saving it for Kaynor. And now that I started Clovis, Unemployment wont pay for something you already started. Anyway, thanks for letting me vent. Good Luck to all of you that made it...

Hi, Regi. You can always go to Naugatuck Community College and take the CNA or PCT class. I am sure you will be able to use your grant. The program is not that long. I know they dont get paid as much as LPN's. But it is something you can do while you pursue your RN. I was thinking about doing that so I at least can get some experience in working in the nursing field while I start my path on becoming a nurse. There are a few different places that have CNA and PCT Training. Here is a site I found that lists Health Training in Connecticut. Best of luck to you.

Sorry that you didn't get in but don't let this keep you from your dream. Good luck and keep on pursuing your RN.

:DGuess what?? This morning I recieved a call from the LPN program at Kaynor. They said they "might" have a open slot. That they will call me back in an hour with an answer.
One long hour later, they called and asked if I could join their class. She half asked if I can come now.... what!! I am moving to a new house. Yes, I was surrounded by boxes agreeing to start a nursing program.
I have mixed feelings, sorta feeling like leftovers, but getting over it to get to my goal. I need to start, so I can not continue to feel under my former husbands control on whether he will pay child support or ailmony. Anyway, I will be starting school on Tuesday. Oh and the book list is crazy expensive. ($800.00) Any tips on how to get this down will be appreciated.
Congratulations:balloons: I bought most of my books through amazon.com.
