Acceptance letters for spring 2012?

Nursing Students Pre-Nursing

Published

Hello Spring hopefuls!

I am in LA and applied to 6 local community colleges for Spring 2012. The wait is absolutely killing me. Every day when I open the mail box I get a twinge of anxiety....only to find nothing there. Anyone else out there in the LA area that has applied to local schools? Share your stories!

I applied to:

College of the Canyons-already got a denial from them

Pasadena City College

Glendale Community College

LA County

Los Angeles Community Collge

LA Valley College

Hopefully we hear something soon!!!

I've been accepted to:

Cal State Long Beach BSN

Cal State Channel Islands, Goleta/Cottage Hospital BSN

Grossmont College, ADN

Haven't heard from LA County yet, but I've already accepted CSULB offer, so if I get in, I will decline the offer... I live in Long Beach, so it's very convenient and only two years away from my BSN/RN!

Awesome that you got into so many schools! Best of luck to you!! I hope I have good news soon too :)

Thanx!!!! I hope that you get into your dream program soon as well!!!!

Good luck to everyone! I'm STILL waiting for a letter too....hoping to get it this week. At this point, I just want a letter...good or bad. :)

Still nothing in my mailbox. I guess I can assume that I didn't get into LA County since someone here already got a letter and my mailbox is empty. I am having a hard time keeping my hopes up.

LA County School of Nursing sends out their acceptance letters in waves and not all at once, so there's no need to panic yet. You can call them and ask for the coordinator and they can check for you. Don't feel bad about calling, that's their job. Even though I don't plan to attend LA County, I know that I have been accepted, and I haven't received a letter yet either. SO, don't assume, be proactive and give them a call!

For anyone who applied for Spring 2012 RN in the Los Angeles Community College District (LACCD),

Trade Tech sent acceptance letters out last week.

Harbor College sent out an email last week informing me of status and selection determination after TEAS results.

Valley College sent out an email this evening regarding acceptance.

I applied at 8 colleges (ELAC, Glendale, Pasadena, LAHC,LATTC, LAVC, LA City College, SMC) and got accepted by three of them. I haven't gotten any rejections yet.

Of all the schools I applied to - Valley College is the most consistent regarding when notifications would be sent and ELAC is the WORST. I applied at Valley in September 2011 and got notification today. I applied at ELAC in June 2011 and I've been calling them just about every other week since August 2011, and I am always told, "notifications will be sent next week". ELAC's brochure said notifications would be sent six weeks after the deadline.

For anyone intending on applying for Fall 2012 - Apply to as many programs as possible. This has been an ordeal just waiting. Make it easier by applying at multiple locations.

Good luck!!!

Hi all! I applied to two colleges for the spring and received an acceptance letter to one of them today! I'm still waiting on an email from the other college as it is my #1 choice. However, I'm blessed to have at least gotten one acceptance letter and relieved to finally stop worrying because I now know that I'll be sitting in someone's nursing class next semester, YEEEEEEEEEEESSSSS!!!!!!!:yeah:

I called LA county today and they said they could not tell me what my status was and that the letters would go out by the end of November.....hmmmm. Doesn't make sense.

I called LA County today and they wouldn't tell me anything. They said letters would be out by the end of the month.
