Acceptance letters from N Georgia (UNG) Fall 2013

U.S.A. Georgia

Has anyone heard when acceptance letters will be mailed out??

If you hear anything, please let everyone know!!

That is very encouraging! I've also heard that courses seem "easier" at the Gainesville campus than at Dahlonega. I've always taken my courses at the main campus, so it'll be interesting if Gainesville will be my new home. ;)

This isn't true at all, at least for nursing classes. I'm about to graduate from UNG's nursing program and go to the Forsyth campus.

The way the nursing classes work is that you attend class at whatever campus you're assigned to. One of the instructors will lecture and all the campuses will watch the lecture via satellite at the same time. You are able to interact with the instructor, as there are IT people on every campus who will turn the mic on and off so you can ask or answer questions. You are all taking the same class at the same time, so it can't be any easier at one campus or another.

First year, you attend class one day a week and have lab one day a week and then go to clinical one day a week after you pass your checkoffs. Second year, you attend class one day a week and attend clinical two days a week, starting pretty much at the beginning of the semester. This means that while you are only in class one day a week you will have a whole lot of work that will have to be done independently at home. This worked out well for me as I am a single mom who works full-time as well as attending nursing school full-time. You have to be self-motivated and be willing to put in the hours at home or you won't pass.

Thank you for the info. And congrats on getting ready to graduate!!! I am also a mom and work full time and its great to know that this program is doable with all the extra responsibilities I have. I am ready for the outside work. I am all about time management. Thank you so much for the insight.

Congratulations on graduating from nursing school! :nurse:

This is very helpful information, thanks! :) This kind of arrangement works very well for me, being one with a family and all of the nuances that go along with it. Can hardly wait to start the nursing program and see what I can really do! :snurse:

Thanks for the info! That's good to know that the program is pretty flexible as far as not sitting in class M-F. I just received my CNA certification last month so it seems as if I'll be able to work while in the program, which is good news.

Do you think the next round of letters will come this week? :)

I'm hoping so. Last year it was two and a half weeks later after the original deadline. That's this week! I don't want to get my hopes up though! But I'm sooooo hoping!
