Hello @ krisdew2, I am interested in the RN program. How is it going for you? I heard that the program is not accredited yet. besides, it looks like ICICS, the college's accreditor are no longer allowed to accredit any institution. Are you aware of that? Do you know if the school is trying to find another accreditor at this time? Any input will be very much appreciated!!
Yes, they and hundreds of schools lost accreditation but they have been granted conditional status by ACEN already. Its good for what i wanted. Quick, reasonable and self study for an RN degree. For the cost, time of study and resources available to do these classes. Its great program for those who are transitioning careers mid-life. There are a lot of deficits in the program and it has not been a easy process for the students and instructors but its a means to an ends.
You are right the person that I spoke with from the school told me that they have been given candidacy/provisional status by ACEN. He was really open and nice in answering any of my questions. He said they are half way into finishing the accreditation process - in the next 9 months or so. I just like the air around the school. I am an adult learner as well and would like to learn in such environment. To be honest with you, I must confess that every program/schools has got its own hiccups as well. I have looked into so many schools ( just trying to do my research about them first). You just need to find what works for you personally as a student and go from there. What semester are you in currently? Can you send me private email later on? I will be moving to Florida if I get accepted into the program.
You do not need to move to FL for the program. Most of the students are foreign MD or other medical professionals looking to jump into an NP program after the ADN/RN. Tthey are also trying to get an FNP program approved. If you are older, start now and go there for clinical rotations. You can move anytime but i wouldn't move there just for the school. Volunteer at hospitals in your community and use your connections to network within a specialty you might have interest. The program goes fast ans I am almost done. Studying for the finals and NCLEX now. The sooner you start the better it is. It will take you time to get a job and make connections. I can send you my information if you need further personal advice.
Thanks for those pointers and congrats for your progress in the program!!! I know it is a lot of hard work and you can't believe you are almost finnishing. You know, I am also wondering if I need to move given that I live more than 11 hours away from Florida. You are right that the program goes fast - just 12 months! How many days a week are clinicals/labs? It looks like lectures are 100% online.
please, send me your contact. I need to get some personal info from you. Thanks again!!!!!!!
sure send me you info here if u like and I can contact u.
