Accelerated BSN MCPHS- Worcester Spring 2015

Published

Just wondering if anyone out there is applying to the accelerated bachelor in nursing program at MCPHS Worcester for spring 2015. I was just on campus for an information session and will be sending out my application this week.

Are there any current students out there that can explain what the program is like? Class schedule, clinicals, etc. Would you recommend this program?

I really hope so. I really hope you are right. It's gonna be 3 weeks this week. I want to stay positive but... :/

You are applying for Spring 2015 right? Let me know If you hear anything from them.

Yes. Spring 2015

Soooo.. I just received a mail that I have been selected for an on-campus interview. Whyyy??? Does that mean this is a rejection letter? :(

Hey,

I don't think this is a rejection letter. It means you still have good chances of getting accepted. Don't worry you will get in!! When is the interview?

I still have to call them and set it up. But they suggest to Do it ASAP because it's a first come first served basis. Anybody have an idea? How should I prepare myself? I also read that they will have you write essays on the spot.

oh okay. I don't know anything about interview. Good luck! :)

ejf28, what were your stats?

I've read on the forums here that the request for you to come in to interview is simply an opportunity for them to get to know you more, and determine whether you are a right candidate for the program. Consider it as though they want to see the car they like before they buy it. I think you'll have a good chance of getting in.

Meanwhile, I'm now reconsidering my decision not to accept their offer. I haven't acted on it yet. I've been doing as much research as I can to find out whether I should attend. It's definitely one of the least expensive ABSNs out there, at least compared to many other bigger universities. The nurses at the hospital where I work all say it doesn't matter where you've done your BSN, and MCPHS appears to have good numbers in their graduates passing the NCLEX on their first attempt. So, I think I should be happy to be a part of the cohort.

I have a couple more weeks to send my deposit it, which I might do soon. To the others who have been accepted, will you be considering on-campus housing?

Hey spaceshuttleboy,

I'm considering on campus housing. How about you?

I'm also considering on-campus housing. I'll be moving from the west coast with no time look for other housing. So it would be useful, at least for the first semester, until I'm settled and know the city adequately. I'm going to try to contact the housing department to find out more information on the available on-campus units and how they are distributed to students.

I'll also have a car, so there's also parking to consider. It's not very easy to get rid of at the moment, but I suppose I'll need it for driving to clinicals and getting around Worcester...?

Does anyone know have any more information on housing options and living in Worcester?
