Abusive family members

Hi, I just want to know how to handle family members and visitors who repeatedly harass the nursing staff. Even after all care is provided and all of their request and concerns have been addressed. It's just so discouraging to do the work we do when we are treated the way we are. Belittling us no matter what we do.

Are you providing in home care? Does your management know about the belittling treatment?

Reach out to your nursing supervisor / manager ASAP.  Being a great and caring nurse doesn't mean you should continue to subject yourself to family and visitor's harassment and abuse. No matter how you try some family members just can't understand your efforts, especially in LTC/nursing home facility.
