Hi everyone, just wanted to ask anyone who is/has been struggling with absolute exhaustion how they coped , tips, tricks, strategies..anything helpful..? Thank you so much- best regards -L

I have been there at certain moments not sure why except burning the candle at both ends.Taking care of my fluids and small frequent meals with some oj and stress vitamins helped with the hump.Cutting back on coffee or giving it up at least for awhile enables your body to rest better. Those 12 hour 3 days in row shifts are not good for you ,I set my phone reminder to a get to bed now warning,so at least I was getting some rest if not sleeping.Meditation to rid myself of work stress also helped, tons of them on U tube. Try Hay's evening meditation after a shift. Some once told me take a mini vacation every three months,it helps your spirit.

Working nights will ensue exhaustion. My tip is just keep moving/ standing. If you do close your eyes, make sure not to completly fall asleep.

Thank you so much to all for the responses, I will be trying all of the above recommendations, I appreciate the strategies. It is certainly not spiritual or mental, just physical. Got my appointment with my physician once again, she didn't seem concerned at all, she just said "it happens often in this profession" but I definitely know it's not normal for me. I have fallen asleep on the train,my neighbors, my laptop, my lunch, and I've started to take my kitchen timer to the shower just in case because some days I sit down for a few minutes there. It basically feels as though I'm carrying a suitcase full of bowling balls everywhere I go. I have 2 different alarms beside my bed just in case too. Lately I haven't seen friends or family because I rather sleep. And I agree with the fact that stress deflates us. I will be taking better care of myself better and monitor any changes (I pray that i see some soon). Thank you all for taking the time to reply to my post, :) - L

Get checked for sleep apnea. Pregnant?

Did your doc do labs of any kind? Call her back and get her to look deeper into your situation. Tell her you are worried and would like her to re-think the issue. Get another doctor.

I know others have asked, but what is your diet like?

On any meds that might cause this?

Videotape yourself sleeping and see what you are really doing?

Do you sleepwalk?

Sleep apnea was the first thing I thought of, too. How do you feel when you first wake up? Do you feel well-rested and ready-to-go? Or do you still feel tired?

How do you feel when you are taking a vacation? Do you sleep better? Feel better in general?

Like many others apparently, I have been in a tired funk lately. I spend my days off at home, alone, doing puzzles and/or watching old movies. I should be cleaning my condo as it is starting to look like a hoarder lives their. I am not a hoarder: I would gladly part with the stuff. I just don't have the oomph to throw it away!
