Hi everyone,
this is my first post on the website. But I am a current ABSN student interested in doing CRNA in the future. I wanted to do CRNA since high school but got side tracked major-wise. my first degree is a bachelors of science in Neuroscience from a competitive university. Unfortunately I barely had a 3.0 gpa in undergrad and have C's on my transcripts mostly in science courses. I am at a 3.7 for my BSN though and hope to stay around that.
what I am wondering is, should I stay with CRNA or will my old stats throw me out the race, and I should just switch to NP instead? Will retaking classes really make a difference or will my old mistakes overshadow?

My GPA for my first degree was a 2.8. 8 years later I got all As in my prerequisites and a 3.8 in an ABSN. I also did very well on the GRE. My school never mentioned my previous GPA and said they focus on recent grades. Got into the first school I applied to. I think the fact that my previous poor grades were > 5 years old, my BSN grades were high, and I had a really good GRE all helped me. You may need to explain the past grades a bit but an ABSN GPA above 3.6-3.7 shows you have turned it around from your past degree.
Thanks so much for this post! It gave me a lot of hope. I feel a lot better now! And congrats to you!
