Nursing Students NCLEX

Wow I can't believe all these years come down to one test :o crazy!

Just finished my last question trainer from Kaplan and thought I was gunna die, that is straight torture and consumed my day BUT in the home stretch!

I can't believe I got a 72% on Q trainer 7! All my question trainers have been above 70 except 4 which I got a 68%. I don't get it! I still feel like I don't know enough...ya know??

So nervous for next week!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

ahhh!!!

LOL at u both! I know everyone says Im beating a dead horse but COME ON! What else would I be doing right now besides study/practice questions ya know. I only went psycho hardcore studying for like 4 weeks...but like all day (I don't work)...and I get above 70s on my qs trainers so im trying to pump myself up confidence wise lol But I think youre right BriManRN I need to act like Im at home taking another test and not over think it. May I ask how many questions u got? I hope I dont panick if it goes past 75 lol

@ wfas457

yup Im just like you

I did the same as you. No job at the time so I made preparing for the NCLEX my job along with two kids and husband lol every second I got I was doing questions! You are going to do great! Your scores are awesome too. I passed with 75 questions...I was SHOCKED!! walked out thinking wow totally bombed that and with only 75 questions!! I also recommend being the 1st at the testing center so you don't have to wait while everyone before you checks in. I was the 1st one there & 1st one to start the test.

Thanks BriManRN! I take it monday and my nerves r going nuts. Even when I work out Im like zoning out cuz the anticipation. I've put so much into this like it HAS to go well right?!! lol

wow 75 qs that's amazing! Yeah Im pretty shocked at my qs trainer scores lol every time I finish and see my score im like !?? haha I HAVEEEE to make sure I stay cool as a cucumber during the test bc when Im chillin at home I do awesome so I can't over think it there. Any advice would help lol

I don't know what to do today, just review content I think...not going nuts but I feel like I know HOW to answer qs so I think it comes down to your content in making the final selection of the answer...if that makes sense. I hope the NCLEX is a lil easier than Kaplan bc some Kaplan qs im like *** is this?? lol

Oh and I plan on being there like an hour early haha ..no but seriously

Haha cool as a cucumber love it!! Yes, when you sit down at computer just say over and over to yourself "I'm just taking another's Kaplan question trainer...I got this!" That's what I did anyways lol.

Also two days before my test I read over that all nurses study guide and important lab values of course. Day before I read over kaplans test taking strategies and then got a (light) hour massage at 6pm. Was fantastic!! My test was on a Thursday at 8am. Please let me know how you make out on Monday!! Are you going to do the PVT?!?!

Oh and before my test I said to myself always assess before implement EXCEPT when in distress!! And acute before chronic when it comes to priority questions!

DUHHH I'm doing the pvt hahaha as in like in the car on the way home lol I'm (forcing) my husband to drive me there, and pick me up bc I'm sure I'll need the support lol He's so funny he keeps me calm. He's like 'oh please you should have taken this a day after you graduated and you'd be fine' so it makes me feel better ya know. I don't know what I'd do without his support. I will let you know how I do!!!!! I'll def try your advice, tomorrow we are going to the beach and he's keeping me busy all day.

Thanks for the tips! I think I'm going to really take my time the first 20-30 qs...Ive heard that helps because you obvi don't want a bunch wrong in a row. I have never had a problem with finishing my exams on time in the past so I'm not worried about the 6 hour time frame.

You know what's funny, totalllllly not tooting my own horn (nor do I wanna jinx it lol) buttttt priority, delegation qs don't seem that difficult to me. I'm more anxious with WHAT qs I'll get. Some ppl say they get all ob and psych while some get all GI and the list goes on. So I'm just like trying to be an expert in everything lol not really but you know what I mean. So stressful. Ugh is it Monday yet???!!!:nailbiting:

Haha your funny!! I hear ya I feel like most of my questions were priority and then my SATA were disease/teaching.

The beach is a great idea!! I took that QT 7 just because I wanted to see how long it would take me just in case I had all 265. Took me 3 hrs without any breaks so same here! You are gonna rock it!! Have fun tomorrow : )

I think I realized that if I keep going with NO breaks, then I make silly mistakes bc my eyes like get tired...lol if that makes sense. You can raise your hand and take a break when you need to right? I know theres a 'scheduled' break after 2 hours (oh m gee that's way too long) so just curious on that. I did a mock with that when I took q trainer 7, I took short breaks at 100, 150, 200.

I hope I kill it Monday and thanks for encouragement!! :)

hi cgfns has 180 days to review your cvs but it depends on how your requirements go,and how your school for example responds to cgfns..

I am testing on Monday and trying not to have a nervous breakdown before then! I have to drive 3 1/2 hours to my testing location so I'm sure I will be a wreck the whole way there. I have both the Kaplan and Saunders books but have mainly just been using the Kaplan. However when I took my NCLEX-PN I don't think that any studying I did helped me at all. I did pass my PN test on the first try with the minimum 85 questions in about 45 minutes but I walked out of it crying and convinced I failed. Every question I got I just thought "*** is this? I've never heard of this!!". My PN test was almost all SATA questions and had a ton of meds that I had never heard of and a lot of infection control questions that were ridiculous like "which patient would you assign to a private room?" and then every single patient would have a very communicable disease. So basically I'm prepared for my NCLEX-RN to be fairly similar in terms of things that no amount of studying can prepare me for and I just need to tell myself not to panic and just make the best choice out of the options given and not overthink.
