Heather,
Read through this thread, it might answer some of your questions, re: distance learning. It really is not "on-line". We use the same textbooks as brick and mortar nursing schools, our exams are NCLEX type, same location Pearsonvue, but you need discipline to schedule your own time to study. It worked well for me, I work crazy hours, have a teenager at home and live too far from affordable brick and mortar programs anyway. Check your state BON for additional details.

HeatherTN, I'm assuming you are a TN resident, if so I believe TN RODP has a new associate in nursing completely online, you will do clinicals locally and I'm not 100% sure how it works but it is somehow intertwined with community colleges across the state. Check out RODP's website all the info is there and you can apply for the program there. I do not believe you have to have to hold any kind of license. Please someone correct me if I'm wrong!
Good Luck!!
Thanks for the replies......I am not a "license holder" I do however have BS but not related to nursing.
K1207-that is the program I was thinking about applying to....I have looked at their website and I believe their first class will be starting this spring. I also read, like you pointed out, that once accepted the student is assigned a "home base school" and that is who clinicals are done thru.....
I have two little boys, ages 6 and 3, so that is why I am interested in the online course of study.....my older son is in school until 3 pm everday and my younger son could be in daycare.......
I was just unsure of what the schedule was for exams, clinicals, etc.....guess I might try the RODP website for that
Good luck to all of you

That depends on the program. EC is not online but ISU is.

Hi all
Hope this is the right forum for this......I am applying to a couple of nursing programs and had thought about applying to one online and just wanted to know how it is going with all of you doing this? is it about the same pace as the classroom and how/where do you get your notes from? Where/how do you do clinicals?
I have tons of questions so any information would be helpful!!
Thanks
Heather
