I know it's kind of early to start thinking about grad school - I'm only starting my first year of nursing school!
But because I'm starting soon, I wanted to lay out my goals concretely so that I can work hard to achieve them.
My goal is to graduate from my Rutgers nursing program, get a job in NY as an RN, and apply to grad schools from there. My top 2 choices are NYU and Columbia, and I'm looking to do either neonatal or pediatric as a specialty.
I know Columbia has only neonatal :'(
Does anyone know the average admission requirements for these two schools? I want to aim for a high GPA the next for years, but I kind of want to get an idea of the baseline. I want to aim for 4.0 but we all know that's difficult to get, so I want a do-able goal!
Thank you to those that took the time to respond

Columbia has a very good PNP program and experience is not required, but it can't hurt. The nnp program was suspended last year, but I'm not sure if its been reinstated. Try to keep your gpa as high as possible, but prioritize quality clinical experience over studying and grades.
