Have any of you run into the issue with someone dropping a patient off for tx and not coming back to pick them up? We have had that happen a few times recently. There isn't a taxi service or public transportation available which puts the staff in an awkward position.
As a former police officer, good luck with trying to hit someone on dialysis with a trespassing charge. Read this:

In addition, the worst that is going to happen is that the local police jurisdiction will drive that individual home. You fail to realize that in most legal jurisdictions, the jails are already overcrowded with people who have committed serious felonies. Moreover, the time that the police would respond to that call, could take away from a serious felony, such as armed robbery, rape, domestic violence, and a whole other list of serious crimes. The 9-11 system is already overburdened with stupid calls and false reports. You can not tell me that Fresenius and Davita do not have the brains to come up with reasonable policy without contacting 9-11. If you feel you must call the local jurisdiction, use a general number, someone will answer it. Honestly, if I was the responding officer, I would not be happy, and that scumbag administrator would get a serious chew out and if they became nasty with me, they would go to jail for disorderly conduct and then they would have some time to think about how they treated that person. How much are you making off these people, again?
If I was the secretary, there would have been a phone call to all of the media outlets in my major metro area and I would be perfectly capable of making them look like scum. I would be happy to do and I would not give a hoot in you know where what they thought about it. Yes, every word of it would have been the truth and good luck suing someone for that in court.

wouldn't go over well with PTB, but technically the patient is trespassing if the remain after treatment, so call the cops and have them deal with it....
