I just failed the AANP April 18th, 2016. It was very devastating for me. I have studied like I have never studied before. I woud like t know if your two tests were very similiar, Im not expecting the same questions, but 2 Asthma, 2 Pneumonia, 4 STD's and so on?????? I have taken Hollier three times and reviewing the Leik book, completed all 700 practice questions from leik.... and so on.... What am I doing so wrong?
I too failed the AANP exam April 29, 2016. I barely made it home. Letter stated 459. All I can think of is how did this happen....Fitzgerald review, Leik review, Exam edge test.....I know I am old and have test anxiety but could I truly be this non-comprehending of the information? I am scheduled again soon and would like to know if you found out if test are similar because some of the questions I had made absolutely no common sense and I can not figure out how to prepare for this. I won't lie..I am so scared that every moment I am not studying I have caused another failure. I go to sleep listening to Fitzgerald, I have went to PRN at work so I can stay home and re-read and complete study guides from Leik and exam edge....Can anyone please help? ***Congratulations to all those before me that have passed and moved on to a more peaceful sleep.

I just passed AANP boards today, I am officially a FNP-C!!!! I promised myself that when I did that I would "pay it forward" and post a thread (I came to this site MANY times to see what others were posting/asking about boards).
I will be honest and admit that this was my second time taking AANP boards (never attempted ANCC). I failed the first time about a month ago, and was ABSOLUTELY devastated! I couldn't understand how this happened! I had previously took the live Fitzgerald class, plus ordered her practice book from Amazon, and bought a bundle package from APEA. While I was absolutely heartbroken, I was happy to know that I wasn't that far off from passing (I got a 474).
So, I was determined to reevaluate how I studied and retest in one month. What I believe really made the difference was Leik's book! I don't want to sound like a sales representative, but her exam tips and straight-to-the-point facts were right on! I even saw a couple of the practice questions on the exam!
In addition, I also used APEA again (bought another monthly bundle) and bought quite a few practice exams (2 from APEA, both the family and adult-gero practice exam from AANP), and 1 practice exam from Barkley. While this did become pricey, it paid off when I saw "PASSED" on the screen!
Words of advice...study, study, study your weak areas. When taking these practice exams, really look at what areas you are low in. I hope that this long thread helps someone who is sitting for boards soon. Good luck to everyone reading this!
