AA or AS?

I am thinking of starting school in the fall for nursing...not sure what area I want to go into yet, but I want to keep my options open for the future tto furher my career. At the college I am looking at I see an AA program and an AS (Associates in Science) any recommendations?

If you want to go to nursing school you will earn an AS degree. You don't get your degree and then go to nursing school (at least, you don't have to do it that way). You get your sciences and general ed courses done, go to nursing school, and earn an AS, Nursing.

You'll need to give us more information about the specifics of the programs for us to help you sort it all out. Some schools offer and 2-year AS degree during which you take the courses necessary to enter a 4-year Bachelor's Degree in Nursing. Other schools offer a 2-year AS degree in nursing itself that qualifies you to take the nursing licensing exam and become a nurse. Some school offer a AA degree. It all depends on the school and the focus of their programs.

Does the school have counselors or information sessions that you could go to and get more information?

ADN's are often an AAS, or "Associate of Applied Science" degree. Mine will be, when I finish.

Depends on the area/college. I have an Associate's Degree in Science, Nursing.

Yeah, I know. Another school nearby does it as yours was done.

I think it can go either way...I know it can with the Bachelors. I had a professor that was a BAN..instead of a BSN.
