[color=#2d5a8c]a tribute to jane arminda delano, founder of the american red cross nursing service
in an era defined by epidemic, war, and the wild west, jane arminda delano was not afraid of frontiers. as a nurse and the founder of the american red cross nursing service, delano employed innovative solutions to the often overwhelming healthcare issues of her time, paving the way for more professional and organized responses to disasters for generations to come. may 21, 2007, is the 126th anniversary of the american red cross, and there is no better way to mark the occasion than to highlight the life and achievements of this remarkable nurse.

I think it is very important to remember our history.
Nurses have accomplished so much.
The Red Cross has a different function in disasters now. Less nursing but their work is so very important.
I am a Red Cross volunteer for blood drives and teaching first aid.
