A thread for those awaiting decisions...

Published

I just thought i'd make a thread for those that are eagerly awaiting to hear decisions from the applications they have made for 2009!

I applied to 7 schools for mostly direct entry MSN programs, i got rejected by one so far :( i hope it's not a trend that'll continue :/

Lets hear about which schools you all applied to! :)

Hi Rooneyfan...

What msn specialty did you apply for? I applied for the peds acute/chronic np specialty and I just interviewed about a week and a half ago for it. Try giving Filomena a call and ask her to speak with the faculty for the specialty you applied for. When I interviewed with her she told me to give her a call if I hadn't heard about my msn interview by the end of dec. Good luck! I'm sure they're just trying to get to everyone still.

hey dohzenOFF,

I applied for pediatric np. i probably should just call her to find out what's going on...

anyways, good luck to you too!! only a little while longer!

I applied to:

UCSF (rejected) :crying2:

WesternU (accepted) :D

CSULA

UCLA

Loma Linda

Samuel Merritt

NYU

Columbia

John's Hopkins

This has been a long process and I can't wait to hear the results and decide where I'll be going :)

Great job to everyone here...I know that the application process can be so stressful!

Specializes in Pediatrics.

CONGRATULATIONS! That's really exciting that you got accepted to WesternU! YAY! =)

Thank you Jennifer!!

Good luck to you--I hope you get accepted to your Direct-Entry programs as well!!!!

Rooneyfan,

I agree that you should call Filomena to schedule your interview with Kim. I'm applying for Peds/Onc, and had my interview with her January 5th.

I couldn't take it anymore, I called them. GW said "application is complete, thank you for following up." ***? Duke said they are missing a letter of rec, though my prof insists she sent it. I'm pulling my hair out about that one.... ETSU lost my CV and wants another, Western NC reassigned my application since my coordinator quit and the new one will get back to me in a few days. MUSC wants to see my spring transcript in June before considering my app. I need a big glass of merlot, or I'm going to just freak out.

Wunder,

How frustrating! I'm sorry that you have to deal with these annoyances, but I had a few hoops to jump through with some schools when I thought everything had been sent as well.

Take a deep breath, write down a list of what needs to be done, and tackle one at a time. You've come this far, and can finish the rest!

Best of luck!

So I found out why I never got an interview at Penn. They just told me that they are missing my essays, resume and transcripts... lovely.

But I guess Wunder you have it worse, that sucks that all that went wrong! =( Don't worry, you can still get it all back on track. Good luck!

Now Duke wants a portfolio. WT_F am I supposed to put into a portfolio? I have been practicing nursing for 15 years, not making art! The admission advisor told me most people just put their CV in a binder and send that. I already sent them a CV, what is the freakin point of this exercise? I am willing to work harder to get a degree from a school as renown as Duke, but this smells like B_S. She said "expand on your CV." Expand how? I am ready to forget this crap and go to dental school. :-p

I'm so sorry, Rooneyfan!

Are you still able to submit your materials to Penn?

I was asked to re-submit everything, which I did this week, so I guess I'll have to wait and see. I had no idea it was all missing, cuz I got those letters in the mail saying they received my application and then I did that bsn interview with Filomena. But if it doesn't work out then I guess it wasn't meant to be.

I will just pray things work out at other schools! and for all of us!
